Balenciaga's latest bag is part handbag, part...sneaker?

It's been a while since Balenciaga tried to troll the internet with an outlandish but somehow still desirable (to some) design, but today I'm here to bring you some pretty strange news from the world of handbags. That's right, the trickster of fashion is back with his latest scam. Is it a sneaker, is it a handbag, or is it...? both? We'll leave it to you to judge.


Balenciaga's creative director, Demna Gvasalia, is a big fan of taking the concept of streetwear fashion to the extreme. And considering the concept mentioned above, we really should have predicted it given the iconic success of Balenciaga's Triple S sneakers. Now, not only can you wear Gvasalia's chunky, over-designed sneakers on your feet, but you can also carry your belongings in them.


The new SneakerHead Top Handle bag is a nod to one of the brand's newer silhouettes, the Hourglass, which is just as over-designed as the brand's signature sneakers. The Top Handle features a mesh body with faux leather overlays and laces on the front and sides of the bag. The iconic hourglass "B" and "BALENCIAGA" lettering in reverse are also featured, just in case you were wondering which designer would release a bag like this. Top handles aren't your thing? Don't worry, there's also a mini version to hold your phone.
